SmartCardly ("we", "us", "our") is a digital business card application available on iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect the personal information you provide when using the SmartCardly app and website at www.smartcardly.app.

Information we collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide the SmartCardly service. This includes:

  • Account information: your full name, email address, phone number, and the name of the organisation or company you work for.
  • Card data: the content of the digital business cards you create, including any optional customisation choices (colours, styles).
  • Contacts: cards you receive from other users are stored in your account so you can manage your connections.
  • Device information: basic device and operating system details collected automatically for app functionality and crash reporting.

We do not collect financial information, government ID numbers, precise location data, or any sensitive personal data beyond what is listed above.

How we use your information

We use your information solely to:

  • Create and maintain your SmartCardly account.
  • Display and share your digital business card as you have configured it.
  • Store cards you have received from other users.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
  • Improve app stability and performance.

We do not use your information for advertising purposes and we do not sell your data to third parties.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely on servers provided by Railway (railway.app). We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  • With your consent: when you choose to share your card with another user, the information on your card is shared with that person.
  • Service providers: infrastructure providers (such as Railway) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data associated with it will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Children's privacy

SmartCardly is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. Continued use of SmartCardly after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
